DISCIPLINARY MATTERS (Approx 1hr)

Unfair Dismissal is by far the most common action lodged before Employment Tribunals in the UK. Many cases resulted from the failure to follow fair procedures even before the introduction of statutory dismissal procedures. The first half of the workshop seeks to provide an overview of this
complicated area of employment law in detail with the emphasis on preventative strategies and procedural issues with practical advice on dealing with disciplinary matters.

REDUNDANCY BASICS (Approx 1hr)

The second half of the workshop will focus on redundancy. Often organisations need to reduce headcount for commercial reasons during difficult times. This overview outlines the essential procedures that an organisation must follow if they are contemplating reducing headcount in the foreseeable future, especially in the current economic climate.
