Local female owned businesses get a FREE helping hand!!!

Despite the recession many women are taking the route of self-employment as a career option. The business women below acknowledged their journey was made so much easier with all the free help and guidance they received from the Women’s Business Development Agency (WBDA).

Ex-cabin crew worker Elizabeth Kay, owner of Nuneaton based Truly Julry said “Personal guidance in all aspects of starting a business was what I received from my business advisor

Bedworth based See Saw Nursery owner Luana Lea added “When I decided start my business 2 years ago, I attended a WBDA workshop and gained valuable information which enabled me to confidently start and run my nursery. I strongly advise any woman thinking about starting a business to seek advice. The best thing is – its free!!

To show her appreciation for the help she received from WBDA Luana has offered See Saw Nursery on King Street as a venue to host one of the 3 information sessions WBDA is planning to hold during August.

Michelle Grindley, WBDA Business Advisor, and recent winner of the West Midlands Business Support Professional of the Year explained, “These informal information sessions are aimed at women who have a business idea but are unsure how to move forward or have concerns about the different aspects of starting a business. All they have to do is simply drop in and we will provide details of the free support available to them to get their business started successfully.”
