SWEDA has been supporting women in the Black Country to start and grow their own businesses since 1989.

Based in West Bromwich and serving women from all over the Black Country - SWEDA offers a friendly, open door to any woman in business.

Personal Development Training – assertiveness, confidence building, negotiation and sales skills.

Women’s Business Club – a great opportunity to meet other women thinking of starting or already running their business. We invite speakers to inform and inspire, update you on news and relevant support – a great place to share, discuss and test new ideas and support each other!
SWEDA also offers specialist support to not-for-profit companies or
‘social enterprises’, and those individuals or organisations wishing to set up a social enterprise. This includes support to women-led voluntary and community organisations, as well as to individuals wishing to start up a business to benefit the community.
We also have 3 dedicated employment advisors based at our offices. We can offer
advice and support around benefits to women who are unemployed and wishing to move into self-employment. Our advisors can also assist our clients to
access part or full time employment or with
supporting existing businesses to recruit staff.
SWEDA runs a range of accredited and non-accredited courses to complement the business support we provide. This includes help with improving your reading, writing and maths, English language, using the computer, employability workshops (CV preparation, presentation and interview skills); as well as Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Basic First Aid courses.
