Elizabeth Kay : Truly Julry

My name is Elizabeth Kay, age 31. I studied fashion and design, but my career took a turn into travel. I flew as cabin crew for 5 years.
I then left the airline to pursue a career in field sales, which led me into the jewellery trade. I really enjoyed the jewellery trade and had the ambition for a few years to run my own business so finally I took the jump into giving it a go.

Now I have my own jewellery business. It’s got a bit of a twist though because I visit customers at their homes or businesses instead of having just a shop. So I offer a personal service with a variety of jewellery for all ages.

Luckily I didn’t have too many barriers when starting up my business. All I really needed was some business advice and also where to source finance from.

Which made me research online for local support and found the Women’s Business Development Agency which gave me confidence to take my ideas one step further.

Personal guidance in all aspects of starting a business was what I received from my business advisor, Joy Hunter.

With having Joy there, I felt I could discuss any issue or query. It enhanced my confidence to believing I could achieve my ideas and work gradually towards each goal.

It encouraged me to work harder and faster. It also changed the business into being more professional.

It has made me feel that I can succeed and stay positive and focused.

My attitude of mind changed dramatically and it is true - success breeds success! I now have a regular monthly slot to go into Jaguar's work places and sell directly to staff – this is just makes me feel wonderful! Slowly but surely my dreams are turning into reality!
