I am Joanne Asselman and I am the director of ThoroughlyChic Limited. I was born in Northamptonshire in England and was educated in England and Scotland; attending The University of Liverpool where I gained a BSc Honours in Mathematics and The University of Glasgow where I studied Medicine.
I have lived and worked in the UK and abroad in Brussels and Paris, mainly as an Oracle specialist.
So having this experience in different languages I decided it was time to open up my own business. I got in touch with a company who offered business advice and I found them very helpful but I then moved out of their funding area so I couldn’t see them anymore.
So then I found out about the services WBDA delivers – which was something I was keen to try. I got in touch and started to receive one to one business advice session with my business mentor, Michelle Grindley.
Michelle, who is knowledgeable and supportive, provided me with useful information and I found that the encouragement and motivation provided by our regular meetings were very beneficial!
