In 2002 I arrived in England from Chandigarh, India. I moved over here, with our three children all under the age of 7, to be with my husband.

This year I decided that I wanted to start up my own business. So I did some research and also did some training to become a qualified beauty therapist. 

My main barrier though was a lack of confidence. I found it really hard starting a business in a country I have not been bought up in because I didn’t really know about all the regulations etc that I needed. Also having young children and juggling my time has been very difficult.

Help was at hand for Mamta

So I decided to get some help. And this is when I found out about the services WBDA offers. I got a business advisor called Minal Sodha who helped me with my business plan and she helped me with all the start up information that I needed.

I was able to start up my business correctly right from the beginning! The help I have received has been very helpful and informative!!

Now, I provide a full range of beauty treatments from a salon on the Radford Road in Coventry called Venus Beauty Garden.

I am more confident now and I also feel I am not on my own if I have a problem.

I have also taken on more training since seeing WBDA and can provide more services now! The business is growing and I am hoping to introduce some new ideas to it very soon.
