I have worked in an office environment for over 25 years.  Working within HR, IT, Sales and Financial Services has given me a good understanding of the pressures we all face in the workplace.

I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my job and wanted a career change.  I had always been interested in holistic therapies and decided to pursue this route.

Now that I am fully qualified, I am even more convinced in the benefits of holistic therapies.  We all have such hectic lifestyles and don’t seem to find the time to look after our own wellbeing.

We are all aware of the importance in keeping fit and regulating our weight and my goal is to raise awareness of the importance of looking after our complete wellbeing.

How did it start…?

Although I was confident in my ability to provide effective treatments to my clients, I had no idea how to go about starting up my own business.  I was also concerned about how to manage the financial side of business as I had never worked in this area before. 

I found out about the Women’s Business Development Agency via Business Link.  The Women’s Business Development Agency was a lifeline for me.  Joy Hunter was my business advisor and she provided all the information and support I needed and even arranged for me attend training courses and seminars.  It was fantastic!

The support from the Women’s Business Development Agency has given me the confidence to proceed with setting up my own business. 

The end result

I now run my own business called Essential Holistic Therapies. At Essential Holistic Therapies I focus on providing clients’ with a complete holistic treatment.  This means treating the whole person; that is the mind, body and spirit and not just the presenting symptoms.

Each treatment is customised to my clients needs.  I offer Reflexology, Massage, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage.

I offer these treatments locally in my treatment room and also have a mobile service available that caters for group pamper parties, corporate treatments and clients who are unable to travel to my premises.
