I am a 31 year old single mother with 2 children.  I have really been through a rough time, including a divorce and a nervous breakdown, and thought it was time to change my life!

A bit of support from the Women's Business Development Agency

I recently decided that I wanted to do something with my life – I wanted to do something that I enjoy and be able to fit that work around my home life and children. So I thought about starting up as a mobile hairdresser. I had no idea what I needed to do so I did some searches on the internet for support in starting up a business and came across the Women’s Business Development Agency via their website.

I was first booked on the Business Planning workshop which WBDA run. This workshop was fantastic because it really helped me to plan my business right from the beginning and take into consideration everything I needed to have ready before I launched my business! It helped me find direction and know where I wanted my business to go!

After the workshop I was then booked in to have one-to-one business advice sessions withNicola Routledge women in business Michelle Grindley. Michelle provided me with lots of support. She went through the parts of the business plan that I was struggling with, she helped to boost my confidence levels (which were extremely low) and was there every step of the way of this business process so I knew what procedures I would need to follow along the way.
