Lee-Ann Hughes: Hughes Education

I started Hughes Education because I wanted a better lifestyle. I have worked in recruitment for five years and wanted desperately to work for myself.

I turned to WBDA for help

My husband has been encouraging me to start my own business for the part two years but it was having the confidence to take the plunge and just do it. I get very passionate about what I do and feel very personal about my work so I thought it would be best to access the support from the Women’s Business Development Agency to ensure that I covered all the areas in business that I needed to and to make sure I didn’t forget about anything.

WBDA provided me with one-to-one business advice sessions with an Enterprise Coach called Michelle Grindley. Michelle provided me with valuable advice which was given to me in more than one area, friendly ladies there to talk to and to help when I needed it.

About Hughes Education

I set up Hughes Education to provide a personal and friendly yet professional supply teacher service to local schools. I do this by recruiting in the education sector providing teachers and teaching assistants into schools for day to day supply and other positions in Coventry and Warwickshire.

It is a dream to be running and owning my own business and having the opportunity to do things the way I want to do them. I look forward to the challenges ahead knowing that I have WBDA there to help every step of the way.
