My name is Stephanie Hatton and I have been working as a hairdresser for 10 years now and I thoroughly enjoy it!
Starting my own business
After working in the hairdressing industry for so long, I decided that it was time for a new challenge. I wanted to do something that would help me better myself, something that allowed me to earn a reasonable income and do something that I really enjoyed… so I thought starting up my business was the solution!
I heard about the Women’s Business Development Agency through word of mouth, so decided to get in touch to see how they can help. I was put onto WBDA’s fantastic ‘Business Awareness – Planning For Your Business’ Workshop, which helped me put a business plan together, helped me find direction for my business idea and basically turned all my dreaming into a reality. By attending this workshop it helped me start to rebuild my confidence and start moving my plans forward.
I would really recommend going on the Business Awareness workshop as it gave me a better understanding of how to run a business and the information and advice provided mak
es the process a lot clearer!
I was then able to access the free one to one business advice sessions with a business mentor. My business mentor was Michelle Grindley who was there to lend a helping hand along my journey into self employment. She was understand and provided relevant information for my business.
Since accessing the support provided by the Women’s Business Development Agency I have become a confident person and I am really looking forward to being my own boss!
